Over the past year, we have seen an increase in inquiries about how to assist families with "Celebration of Life Memorial Receptions" We have worked very closely with area Funeral Directors to design menus that present many options for clients. With the availability to host the family and friends at our Virginia Beach location or to instead take the entire Reception to a family member's home or social hall, Grand Affairs can handle all of the details with one phone call. We will coordinate the menu to be served, the silk or fresh centerpieces for the guest tables, the arrangement of a remembrance photo area and even a selection of appropriate music and a customized video of their loved one's life. A wonderful tribute and honor for your special loved one.

Receptions following funerals or memorial services range from simple light lunch of finger food for a stand up reception, to a full buffet meal with staff and beverages.
We know this is a hard time for families – too many things to do in a short period of time and under emotional distress.
Our event planners can help you with menu choices and quantities, either over the phone or during a brief meeting. For larger catered receptions, you may need to plan for staff for the set up and clean up, leaving the family free to greet attendees at your home, funeral home or here at Grand Affairs.
The following menus range from very simple to more substantial. Of course, we are always happy to adjust the menus to make everything just right for you and your family. If you would like us to create a custom menu for you, we would be happy to do so.
These two menus are suitable for a hearty lunch or simple supper. For small numbers of guests, you may pick up the food or have it delivered and set up. For larger numbers of guests, it is more practical to have our serving staff set up, serve and do the clean up for you. Should you need a place to host this Celebration of Life Reception, please inquire about our availability in one of our chandeliered ballrooms in Virginia Beach. We will waive all room rental fees with over 50 guests in attendance and can also provide any type of beverages that you would like to serve.

During your time of need, allow us to take the worry and burden of preparing for your immediate family, neighbors and out of town guests. We will handle everything including the complete breakdown of the gathering. Please call to schedule a convenient time to meet and discuss the arrangements. Many families even wish to make advance arrangements by obtaining menus and price quotes. Whatever your wishes are, we will be there when the need arises.
